Mighty Acorn joins UI Technology Coordinating Coalition

Unemployment insurance systems are among the most consequential public benefit programs—and among the most difficult to change. Policies shift, requirements evolve, and programs carry years of technical debt, yet the underlying technologies often can’t keep pace. Mighty Acorn Digital is joining the Unemployment Insurance Technology Coordinating Coalition (UITCC) because we believe that gap is where trust in public systems can erode, and where we can contribute our particular expertise to the larger conversation focused on the same outcomes.

The UITCC is a national network of advocates, technologists, and policymakers working to modernize unemployment insurance systems. UITCC membership gives us the opportunity to learn from organizations that are improving unemployment insurance from every angle: policy, technology, and advocacy. In turn, Mighty Acorn builds modular, resilient public benefits systems.

From verification checks to the technical debt inherent in migrating away from legacy platforms, the public benefits space is complex, with many blockers to holistic improvement. Lawyers, policymakers, academics, economists, state commissioners, and subject matter experts each offer unique perspectives and influence.

Through UITCC, we’re joining a broader conversation about what systemic change in unemployment insurance requires. We’re here to listen, contribute, and build toward systems that serve people better.
